Broad-spectrum antifungal for systemic, superficial, and deep mycoses
Each tablet contains:
ltraconazole......................................................................................................... 100 mg
Excipient......q.s.ad............................................................................................. 1 tablet
Treatment of fungal infections affecting the skin, lungs, nails, mouth, throat, etc. Ringworm caused by dermatophytes. Systemic mycoses, superficial and deep mycoses. As prophylaxis in patients with immunosuppression.
Oral route
- Dermatophytosis, onychomycosis, Malassezia spp. dermatitis: 5 mg/kg every 24 hours, continuing for 1 week after complete resolution of clinical signs and/or evidence of mycological cure. Pulse therapy: 5 mg/kg every 24 hours for 2 consecutive days per week.
- Susceptible systemic mycoses: 5–10 mg/kg PO once daily (or divided and administered every 12 hours). In general, treatment should be continued for at least 30–60 days after clinical resolution and/or evidence of mycologic cure. Infections such as lagenidiosis, zygomycosis, phaeohyphomycosis, or hyalohyphomycosis may require 10–15 mg/kg PO once daily for many months, as well as surgical resection and additional antifungal agents (e.g., terbinafine).
